A Year for Truth and Transformation

Jan 18, 2026    AK Robinette

This powerful message confronts us with a sobering reality: we're living in the midst of an invisible war for souls. Drawing from John 4 and Ephesians 1-2, we're reminded that true worship must be in spirit and truth—anything less is noise that heaven doesn't hear. The sermon unpacks Paul's description of humanity as 'dead in trespasses and sins,' walking according to the 'prince of the power of the air.' This isn't just theological language; it's the actual condition of everyone around us who doesn't know Jesus. We're challenged to see beyond the surface—beyond nice cars, successful careers, and happy appearances—to recognize that without Christ, people are spiritually dead and destined for eternal separation from God. The message calls us out of complacency, asking why we gather if not to rescue the perishing. It's a clarion call to understand that we hold the keys to people's eternal destinies. Jesus isn't coming back to do evangelism—that's our job. The Holy Spirit was given to empower us as witnesses of the resurrection, and this year is about building new wineskins for fresh wine. We're invited to pray Isaiah's prayer: 'Here am I, send me,' committing ourselves to whatever transformation God needs to work in us so we can effectively reach the lost.
